Summer is fast coming to an end and with it comes the reveal of this year’s Celluloid Screams programme. The festival takes place in Sheffield from October 23rd through the 25th, with 18 events lined up across the long-weekend.
The highlight of the festival is often the all-night event, which this year brings together Re-Animator, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and Phantasm alongside Wes Craven’s original Nightmare On Elm St., which acts as an appropriate tribute to the recently deceased genre legend. While the all-nighter looks to horror’s past the rest of the festival is a celebration of more contemporary fare, with the latest Takashi Miike film, Yakuza Apocalypse and These Final Hours looking particularly interesting. The weekend closes out with a very special live performance of Dario Argento’s Profondo Rosso with live-score from Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin.
